Considering what type of bedding to buy could feel like a daunting task. Your decision is not only based on personal preference, but many other factors including the position you sleep in and temperature of your bedroom. At Warm Things, customer support has always been one of our main priorities. On our website, you will find guides to finding the right bedding for your style. To make the process even simpler, in today’s blog, we are providing you the ultimate guide to our guide…

Comforters

For over 40 years, Warm Things has been designing and producing comforters. Comforters are typically available in a wide variety of styles and prices, with down being the most common. The best way to determine the ideal comforter for your needs is based on your warmth level in relation to your body and bedroom temperature.

Ask yourself:

  • Are you warm or cold at night?
  • What’s your bedroom temperature like - warm, drafty, average?
  • What is the climate like where you live?

Depending on how you answered the above questions, we have broken our comforter selection down into four levels:

  • Level 1- This is the perfect choice for warm sleepers in a warm to medium temperature room. Designed for use in hotter climates or seasons, this comforter helps maintain a comfortable body temperature without adding extra weight.
  • Level 2- Our level two comforters provide year-round comfort for those who run warm to normal in a medium temperature room.
  • Level 3- Level three comforters are preferred by individuals who are typically cooler at night.
  • Level 4- If you are the type who is always cold, a level four comforter will be thick to trap in the heat and keep you warm throughout the night.

Pillows

The pillow we sleep on has a lot to do with our sleeping position, whether it be on our back, side, or stomach. All of our pillow types come in soft, medium, or firmer support levels. Soft pillows contain less fill, while firm pillows contain more. These differences give the pillows varying heights, and alters the amount of firmness that you feel.

To determine the best pillow for your needs, what position do you sleep in?

  • Back- A lower pillow can adequately support and conform to your head and neck when you sleep on your back.
  • Side- A higher pillow is advised when you sleep on your side so the neck and head are aligned straight over the shoulders.
  • Stomach- For stomach sleepers, a flat and softer pillow should be used to give support without being too thick.

Like our comforters, we’ve put our pillows into four level categories:

  • Level 1- The softest of our pillows, level one is recommended for stomach sleepers. They provide enough support without being too thick.
  • Level 2- Recommended for back sleepers, this style of pillow is of a soft-medium firmness and will support and conform to your head and neck.
  • Level 3- Side sleepers prefer a medium-firm pillow so their neck is in line while cradling their head at night.
  • Level 4- The firmest of our pillow choices, level four pillows are designed for those who need extra support.
